Looking back on his life Stannis feels mostly regret. All he can see is the thinghs he hadn't done, the words he hasn't said. Because he was too cold. All the smiles he never smiled, all the tears he never shed.

Roberts Rebellion against the mad king and the Targaryen-dynasty has reached a climax at the battle of Ashfurth where Robert had to take a scathing defeat. Now the Royalists with their mighty Leader Maes Tyrell and his army are on the way to Roberts Home Storm's End where his little brother Stannis is staying with his remaining 500 man to defend Storm's End against the Royalists. The situation seems hopeless as long as one brave person saves Stannis and maybe even the complete rebellion.

"Jon Snow?" Sage asked without missing a beat. Jon turned around startled, not expecting someone to interrupt his and Olly's lesson. "Aye?" He answered, recognising the girl from Stannis' attack against the Wildling camp. She still wore her hair in a long braid and had the same simple clothes of leather. She was holding a bo staff in her right hand. "Your friend Samwell Tarly doesn't believe a blind girl without a sword can fight therefore I'm here to prove him wrong. So, would you like to spar?" She asked. Jon, startled by the upfront question had a hard time giving an answer. Instead, he found himself lost in those unique cloudy grey eyes and the secrets they hid.

The people gossiped in the streets, their baskets hiding their faces, their voices, hush, disappearing when the sound of hooves rang in the distance. Because the idea is so foreign, I have never found a fanfiction expressing this idea, nor even one about his early life, so I have decided to write a little something for my AU version of Game of Thrones. ~ I do not own the artwork nor the original storyline/characters, but I do own this storyline and any OCS I may add-in. And this may differ from the tv show because finding anime or cartoon-styled representations of characters, spares me the job of finding actors or ppl online whose permission I do not have to use the picture as an example 😅.
