Basically a short Robert's Rebellion rewrite, where the Rebellion didn't happen because some crown prince dumped his wife and kids for a 14 year old girl who was engaged to a guy who already had a bastard; The Rebellion happened because Stannis Baratheon was done babysitting his 5 yo. brother so he decided to pull up at Harrenhal and take his big brother's fiance to "teach him a lesson.". Except, Stannis didn't think he would fall in love with his brother's fiance and then "accidentally" start a rebellion which cost the lives of many ppl including their sanities; for example Ned was never the same again after witnessing the events at the Tower of Joy. Will Stannis ensure nobody finds out even at the cost of neverending debts to the Iron Bank of Braavos? Read this story to find out.

"You may be the only one who will ever thank me for flaying them," he told her. The girl knew heartache and loneliness, and all bad things in the world. She knew inprisonment, abadonment, and now grief. "I might," the little girl said. Shireen Baratheon was not afraid. Melody June Baratheon had everything she ever wanted growing up. Three loving and protective brothers, the best education Westeros had to offer, friends, and lovers. Now, Melody wishes she was someone else. Anyone else. Now that her eldest brother Robert was dead, Melody's other brother Stannis is running for governor against Robb Stark. In order to keep the Baratheon family's perfect image, Stannis insists on marrying his sister off, to a Lannister, despite the arguments from his advisor, Davos. Needless to say, Melody doesn't like the idea, but has no idea what else to do. So she agrees. When she meets Jaime Lannister face to face, Melody hates him more than she can admit out loud. Jaime, however, seems at least a little pleased and protective of Melody. He brings his own security team with him and assigns one of the bodyguards to protect Melody. Melody and the guard hit it off and soon Melody begins to doubt if she'll be able to go through with the wedding. Unfortunately, there is no room for love in the game of politics. This story is an AU. Cersei and Robert were never married only engaged, Jaime and Cersei are not in their...special relationship. XD I do not own any Game of Thrones characters. They belong to George R.R.Martin! I do, however, own Melody AND my cover so please don't steal them! This story will contain swears, fluff, angst, mentions of cheating, some steam and implied sex. King's Landing has fallen under the hands of Stannis Baratheon. With the Lannisters defeated, Sansa awaits her fate. Will she be returned to her family? Or will she be doomed to the same ending as the Lannisters? As she visits the godswood to pray for her life, she finds that her prayers has been answered- in the form of a man. Or a dog.

'Everything that has happened in our lives since then has depended on that moment when I said yes. Everything.' What if Sansa had said yes to the Hound on the night of the Blackwater? What if she had fled with him through the flames? No Tyrion, no Littlefinger..... what could have happened instead? Far from the Lannisters and D&D, how could the lives of my beloved Sandor and Sansa have panned out?Until Mr Martin tells us otherwise, this is my answer! Sansa is age appropriate - 18+. Sandor is book age - 26 ish. Book canon is favoured over TV show canon, and there are some original characters featured. References to violence/rape but nothing explicit, no smut. Most of the characters and locations are the creations of GRR Martin, with the exceptions of my own original characters and the Sept of Stones. After a horrible shipwreck that claimed the lives of her parents, Elizabeth Baratheon and her brothers seek refuge in King's Landing. From there, her siblings are sent away to kingdoms around Westeros, but Elizabeth is ordered to stay, after capturing the interest of the Hand of the King. Over the years, as the spirit of rebellion against the crown increases, Elizabeth's fury towards the lions abides, as does their prideful attitude towards her. Once the prey, Elizabeth transforms into a terrific predator.

Looking back on his life Stannis feels mostly regret. All he can see is the thinghs he hadn't done, the words he hasn't said. Because he was too cold. All the smiles he never smiled, all the tears he never shed.
