Why? Regulus kept thinking. Why did I have to fall for someone like James? Someone so loud and obnoxious, so attention seeking, someone so utterly out of my league. Really? My brothers best friend? Plus everything going on at home, could things be more confusing? Regulus almost wants to hit James most times. Would these feeling ever leave? If not, could James ever return his affection? Does Regulus even deserve to be loved? He's not much of a lovable person... What Regulus doesn't know, is that James will do whatever it takes for Regulus to know that he is. -------------------------- (Fan art I use is not mine, unless I say it is) None of these characters are mine either btw. Sorry if storyline gets choppy, I'm just making it up as I go basically, and I sometimes forget the things I've already written. I have ideas for the future, and I'm basically just filling in the gaps. Also sorry if my writing style changes ever so slightly, first time writing a fan fiction, so there's lots of room for improvement, especially in the first chapters. Also the story line kind of involved Regulus hanging out with the Marauders a lot, but not becoming one. He will become an Animagus though. Warning for suicidal thoughts, slightly suicidal actions, self abusive thoughts or whatever, Barty being invasive (sorry) mention of rape, Walburga's A+ parenting skills, child abuse, and just some drama here and there.. And recently Remus ended it with his ex and try's to keep him at distance. So he goes to the one and only person he knew had a actual feeling for him.

After the prank, James is will to do absolutely anything to get Remus to trust him. Remus briefly suggests kissing Sirius' brother, Regulus Black, to piss him off. James hadn't even considered it but now that he's watching Regulus dance on the table of the dimly lit common room, kissing him doesn't seem too bad. James Potter was colourblind. It wasn't something that seemed to matter much, until it did.

"I was," Remus corrected, hitting each syllable like a nail. "Past tense. Whatever you're trying to say about me, about us, that ended tonight." The hand on the curtain tightened. "As of now, you and I are nothing." The silence that followed didn't feel empty. It felt total. Sirius's grip loosened. The fabric slid a few centimeters through his fingers before he caught it again, but there was no strength behind it now. The fight went out of his arms as if someone had reached inside and flipped a switch. "But... I love you," he said. It came out small. It is a bumpy start to the Marauders' sixth year. James Potter is having nightmares about the impending war but instead of talking to his friends about it, he spends his nights sneaking away. Trying to escape his family's involvement in the war, Regulus Black seeks refuge in the restricted section. It's there that they accidentally meet and have their first real conversation. James begins to visit the restricted section to spend time with Regulus, finding a strange calmness with him. Marlene McKinnon resigns from her position as seeker and captain of the Quidditch team, and James is unexpectedly thrust into the role. He turns to Regulus for help and ends up falling for him and his snarky and dirty comments. He struggles to come to terms with his sexuality and his growing feelings for his best mate's brother. Narcissa Black is trying to find herself as she prepares for her arranged marriage to Lucius Malfoy. She meets Marlene McKinnon at a pub, and the two slowly find solace in each other. Filled with drama and angst as the impending war grows more intense, and hearts are broken as difficult choices are made.
