After the events of Mario Odessy, Mario finally proposes to Princess Peach to be his bride. She accepts, and the entire Mushroom Kingdom and her allies are celebrated. The Sarasaland Kingdom, New Donky City, and even Donkey Kong Country come to see the wedding. One of these guests is a young man named Liam Starlight, a swordsman in training and a well-trained martial artist and cook as he learns underneath his adoptive father, the Blacksmith Toad Bob. As he watches the Princess and Mario lean for a kiss, they are abruptly interrupted as Bowser and his koopalings make a surprise attack, crashing the wedding and kidnapping BOTH Princess Peach and Mario. But he isn't looking to kill Mario, nor is he to marry the Princess. No, he's looking for more significant power than Mario and Peach could imagine.
