"We won't make it." "Hush Baileythroat!" The larger tom whirled on his sister, "Bluepaw needs to find this gem before Jackdawstreak does. Otherwise it's game over. We all die." His terrifying words where masked by a whisper shout to Baileythroat. "Fine, [Unnamed for now]. But when we end up dead anyways, I'm blaming you." Baileythroat took no care in sheltering her own words from Bluepaw's ears. The small apprentice turned to them, eye lowered. "I know I'm not fit to lead... I'm coy... weak even. But Speckfire chose me." Her voice was above a whisper for once, "And I plan to return home to the forest with it." Bluepaw's one good eye gleamed with confidence, something rare in the type of cat Bluepaw portrayed herself to be. ••••• Cats, born with gems, are granted special powers harnessed through the gems they are born with. They hang around their necks with vines and are used usually for the greater good. Some cat's gems are duds and powerless but those cats are treated with the same respect as any other cat. Only one gem can glow a ruby red and grants the cat a special set of powers. This cat is promised leader, but the ancestors only choose cats of good hearts. So that the clan doesn't fall into utter destruction. Leaders can also choose a cat who was born with a powerless gem to lead after they die. This cat must have the bravery and strength to fetch his or her stone from the Cave of Gems. This cave is where all the gems of past leaders reside. Bluepaw was chosen after the murder of Speckfire to retrieve his gem and lead the clan. Will the small apprentice be able to face the challenges ahead? And stand up to the tom who took her eye and her leader's life?

"Viperpaw, stay out of this. Stay away from him. My little kit I don't want to see you hurt." Was the last words Vipertongue's mother spoke to him before she took her life. "You're my greatest friend. Never forget that." Was his best friends last words before flames engulfed her. "Stop being a dork." Was his sister figure's last words before she died in Vipertongue's grasp. To him, StarClan wanted to take everything from him. His brother died protecting him. His mother took her own life.
