Laying under the stars is a private light show, just for you. For a single moment, you can escape reality and be among them, to feel a part of something so much bigger. A close knitted society with no judgement and where you can truly be yourself without fear. To shine as brightly as you want without feeling self-conscious and out of place. To be surrounded by friends and not feel the suffocating anxiety of human presence. To truly be free. I feel closer to the stars than I do to actual people.

Putting down the bundle of white stargazes glazed with tears on his rose filled casket was supposed to be goodbye. Me crying, listening to his mother not being able to finish her speak due to her crying, was supposed to be goodbye. But standing in my room, holding a picture of him and me tightly in my sweaty hands with tears in the process of drying on my cheeks, I'm sure he's with me.
