To the light hearted, it is a period of mere retirement, until dawn blooms. The moment their eyelids are shut, the mind's imaginative faculty takes them to places far and near.
The inhabitants of sorrow seek solace in the dead of the night. They weep bitterly, until their deafening sobs quieten into soft whimpers. Those whimpers eventually die down, caused by temporary slumber.
There are those who toil all night, even as everyone is fast asleep. Few succeed in their respective missions, many don't.
Perhaps, what almost the entirety of humankind fears, are the horrors of the night. Most of these mysterious cases do not go unnoticed, and those involved are persecuted, at times, severely, by the law. However, what about those incidents, in which the slaughterer himself is a mystery?
