Before the fame. Before the heartbreak. Before the world knew their names... there was a dream.
In 1970s Atlanta, five young women with voices blessed by the church choir take a leap of faith toward something bigger than themselves. Led by the ambitious and determined Violeta Wilson, the girls leave behind the safety of gospel music to chase the glittering promise of stardom.
At the center of it all is Destiny Stephens, the youngest of the group. With a voice that can shake a room and a presence that captivates anyone who watches her sing, music producer Benny Nelson quickly realizes she has the spark of a superstar. Soon the group is signed and given a new name destined for marquees and spotlights everywhere:
Thee Starlottes.
But the road to success isn't as glamorous as the stage lights make it seem.
While Destiny rises as the face of the group, the others must wrestle with jealousy, loyalty, and the sacrifices required to survive the music industry. Behind the shimmering gowns and dazzling performances are friendships tested by ambition, family pressures, love, betrayal, and the heavy cost of fame.
As the girls rise from church choir singers to national sensations, they will discover that destiny can unite people... but it can also tear them apart.
Because sometimes the brightest stars cast the darkest shadows.
And not every member of Thee Starlottes will make it to the end of the spotlight.
