The messages were becoming increasingly bizarre. They had claimed to have destroyed Station 1 and they were using that bit of propaganda to bolster their bid for suprmacy. There'd been a lot of drumbeats, lately, too... Only one experienced space team was available on Earth to send up to investigate: the former crew of the now destroyed Space Station 1, a group as odd in themselves as the drumbeaters still in orbit. And so the U.N. sent them up again on a find-and-report mission---and to make sure that they would be able to cope with whatever they found, they added one more member to the band.....
