A rider's intuition is one thing, but this was not intuition, Johnny thought. This was years of study. Whoever this man was, he knew Johnny in a way that he didn't the other racers. A fan from his glory days, perhaps? No, that didn't feel right for some reason. But if this stranger had in fact been studying him prior to the Steel Ball Run, wouldn't it have made sense for him to know some of the other racer's habits as well? At least the more well known ones. And how did he know Johnny was even going to compete if study was the reason at all? It'd been two years since his last race, it didn't make sense at all. The year is 1890 at the cusp of the grand Steel Ball Run horse race across the country. The grand prize weighing a ton in gold people from far and wide compete from the west coast to the east. Among the thousands attending is a 19-year-old girl from the Isle of Mann who intends win but will end up with plenty of other motivations. Frances Fox; the medic, the equestrian, paired with an unexpected teammate, she travels the course for the gold.

After an unfortunate accident in the snow, Y/N and Mountain Tim retire to a cabin for the night. However, Y/N finds herself in a certain... predicament, as Mountain Tim attempts to keep her warm.
