Stella and Kelly are both lieutenants at the Chicago Fire Department, fire department 51 to be exact. Stella found out that she was pregnant but days later she loses the baby, Stella feels emotionally stressed because she thinks that she isn't capable of being a mother, simply she struggles and wants to give up. Kelly is doing his absolute best by trying be there for her and the supportive husband that she married. Stella is in on the verge of wanting to give up but then comes the day that they are called to a 5 alarm fire, where Stella saves the life of a young girl, who she instantly falls in love with, her and Kelly talk about adopting her. And they did, Stella and Kelly as parents!
