"Are you running away from me?" A playful voice made me stop in my tracks. My heart thudded in alarm, and I had to remind myself that we were in school, with multiple witnesses around us. He couldn't harm me here. I turned around with a glare, but the second I looked at his face, my courage crumbled.
The memory of him threatening to snap my neck if I reported him and his crew hit me like a brick. Swallowing my fear, I met his eyes. "Weren't you the one who told me to stay away from trouble?" A crooked grin tugged at his lips and he brought his face closer. "Yeah. But looks like trouble doesn't want to stay away from you." I blinked.
What? *** [muslim girl x bad boy] Bareera Omar, a.k.a Rory, thought junior year's biggest challenge would be adjusting to life and dealing with how people treated her now that she'd chosen to openly embrace her Muslim identity, and started wearing the hijab. What she didn't expect, however, was to get tangled up with Romero Allen - her school's infamous senior and the walking definition of trouble. One moment, he's bullying her.
The next, he's scaring off the guys who try to mess with her. They don't consider each other friends.
But calling them enemies doesn't quite fit either. Maybe they're something in between. Something along the lines of 'frenemies'. *** "So what do you want us to be? We can't be both. Either we're friends or we're enemies." "Lovers." #1 in stereotypes #1 in goodgirl #1 in badboygoodgirl #1 in hijab

Neon Bruises California, 1985. Being the new kid at Ridgeview High isn't easy for Jean O'Connor. Between rumors, trouble, new friends, and a cheerleader named Stacy Walker he can't stop thinking about, life quickly becomes more complicated than he ever expected. Between late-night drives, fights, and the endless pressure of growing up, Jean discovers that sometimes the people who change your life are the ones you never expected to meet. A coming-of-age story about friendship, first love, and finding where you belong. A story I made, mostly to deal with a small bout of anemoia after watching lots of 80s coming of age stories. Please enjoy. Any and all feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you -D.E. Hank-

WARNING!! this story is purposefully made to be more of a stereotypical countryhuman au that you'd typically see in 2020 or smth, like, abusive dad britain and weaker depressed america who can't catch a break and has a bf and bullies. if you dislike this type of au, then don't read this story, nor send hate. there will be lgbtq+ in this book! also, this story, because of it's au, will also have some darker topics in it such as abuse, bullying, self harm, vulgar language, mental disorders, suicide related themes, and scenes of violence. if any of those trigger you for any reason, don't read this pls! also there will be ships in this book, if you dislike them, that's fine but don't mention it to me since this is one of my au's!! also, this is VERY historically inaccurate with portrayals of countries and their actions and pasts, so keep that in mind (: --- America, a 16 year old with a shitty life just can't seem to catch a break no matter what he does, surrounded by bullies and idiots who just love to make his life hell... What will happen once he meets some kid named Russia? --- BTW THE ART IN THE COVER IS MINE, DON'T TRY TO STEAL IT!

There is NO SHIPPING written between any characters in this story. I know I can't stop anyone from drawing fanart but these characters are in fact based on content creators and some of them have said that they're uncomfortable with being shipped with their friends. So please, try to respect that. There is a self-insert of my Minecraft character but they will not be shipped with anyone, and they are aroace. Characters include: Swayle, Puff, Nerxe (me), Dareo, Frostie, Stereo, and Moose (maybe). I will aim for 2,000-2,500 words or more in each chapter, with a total of 30-50 chapters. These numbers can change. The first two parts will be information about the dweller infection and the characteristics of each character.

I realized recently that my life is full of lessons, so I decided to write what I can about it. Some of these lessons I've learned, and others you'll learn from hopefully. When I was 15, a relative of ours called my mom and my mom's step-sister to the side and told them about her interest in their daughters for her sons, and these daughters happened to be my cousin, Hanan, and I. Both sisters were overjoyed and accepted this proposal immediately. They handed out our phone numbers and returned home to tell their daughters this good news. I'm not sure what happened at the other end, but I turned the proposal down the moment my mom and my aunt sat me down and told me about it, as if my opinion matters lol ... They lectured me about the scarcity of men and preached about recognizing blessings that Allah bestows on his servants. They told me I was blessed and that what I was getting was a golden opportunity that might come only once in my lifetime. The 15-year-old me watched them with slight amusement, and of course, I was not buying into what they were telling. I mean, I was a good-looking, intelligent girl any guy would be lucky to have. Or So I Thought.....

"You're not who they say you are, you know that right?" I ask him while cleaning his cuts and patching up his bruises. "Of course I do.' Don't let them change who you really are' and all that crap right?" He grinned lazily. How could he not see that he was so much more than what he says he is. He doesn't give himself enough credit. And i know it sounds rather cheesy, but when he smiles, the room instantly lights up and the way his eyes crinkle when he smiles, oh my god don't even get me started. "I'm serious. Just because some people only see one side of you and say you're a bad person doesn't mean that you actually are. God, i get so angry when people only see one side of the story and judge. Because Boys can cry, Girls don't have to be thin, Boys don't have to be muscular, Girls can like Girls, Boys can wear make-up, Girls can have body hair and Boys can like pink." "You know, you're pretty cute when you're talking about something you're passionate about." He smiles. It was a genuine smile. I think you're pretty cute too Blake and I really like you a lot. But I won't say it out loud, because there's no way you're going to like me back. ♀ ♂ ♀ ♂ Slightly cringey at the beginning (really cringey bit I'm going to edit it I promise) & kind of cliché.

I mean people might think it weird and you know just stay away from me, but who cares this is fun," I smiled. "Your insane." She whispered in complete and utter fear, "Awe you're so sweet." ___________________________________________________________________________ A tale about breaking social norms and discovering one's self.
