Do you ever look at the mean girl and wonder what her side of the story is? You never do really know a person until you stand in their shoes and walk around in them. Don't be so quick to judge. This is a story about a girl wanting to find something better than her home town, she wants to get out of the ordinary 1950s life style after they move to Australia as imagrants from Italy. Her Mother is a perfect housewife with her perfect, immaculate haircut with her prize-winning rose bushes. Her Father is a doctor and qualified surgeon with a Doctor of Medicine (MD), Bachelor of Medicine, and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). Her older brother Steven was 19 years old, hadn't moved out of home yet while there parents nagged him to "Get a haircut, get a real job and move out" he wanted to be someone but to there parents that was never good enough, be "Simple and plain like everyone else they all live happy lives after they settle down" Yeah, that was just another way of saying we're all the same so don't be different. Victoria was her younger sister, 15 years old, had short shoulder length brown hair and was the exact spitting image of her Mum and had inherited the same attitude too. Then there was the mystery girl... The outsider... Will she settle in and choose the boring life style everyone else seemed destined to? Or will she finally find the people she has been looking for?

Humans are social beings . We tend to live for someone else. We toil in our pain and pasts and become engulfed into a blindness averting us from a life beyond what we deserve. A life beyond society, expectations, religious differences, dominance, stereotypes, toxicity and death.

The girl smiled at her, not knowing who she was. "You look like a princess. You have nice hair and blue eyes that look like a dragon gave them to you." Princess Zahra gave a shaky laugh, wondering if the girl knew she had the same, glowing eyes as herself. "Well, I think you look like a princess too." She shook her head. "I don't want to be a princess. I want to be a warrior." --- Like any world, Rova is plagued with issues such as social disbalances, gender inequality and pirates. It is also included in a 20 year war. Zahra, the princess of Rova, is unaware of these problems because of her sheltered lifestyle within the palace walls. Her only worries are the temper of her little sister, Jaylyn, and the fear of disappointing her parents, the King and Queen. However, her views are tampered with as she is kidnapped and pulled into the lifestyle of pirates where she is exposed to the class discriminations, the poverty, magic and the raw power that people, especially women, can have when driven and determined. This poem is about gender dysphoria and growing up in a world that never allowed you to be who you truly wanted to be.

Raven curls bounced over the gold ring in 'her' ear as the 'woman' turned 'her' head. Affectionate grey eyes glanced to the offending party before speaking, "Mother! I thought I told you to call me Lindiwe and not Zakhele ?!" To the untrained ear, you wouldn't be able to pick up on the mirth hidden under 'her' annoyed tone. In fact, many wouldn't be able to hear the hint of suppressed masculinity under 'her' melodic and angelic 'female' tone. Laughter filled the air; swiftly replacing any remaining tension. My sincerest apologies, Lindiwe" her mother mocked playfully "it's quite alright" replied 'Lindiwe', keeping up the charade. A glance at the gold watch on 'her' wrist almost immediately dimmed the joyful atmosphere. "Although I must hurry to the bakery - before I am late for the first rush!" 'she' quickly explained before running to the door. The only sounds after that were the sharp slap of the door being carelessly yanked shut and the rattling of the ancient washing machine that somehow, miraculously, still worked. Zakhele - sorry, Lindiwe Londisizwe has a dark secret. 'she' is a he'. No, he is not transgender; although he might enjoy the cross dressing more than he would ever admit to anyone. He has to hide his gender to keep his job as head baker at sweet assassin bakery. The reason? It is already a quiet bakery on the outskirts of the city, if people found out that a black male was making their treats? Well the bakery would be more of a ghost town than the Cemetry a few miles down the road. Well why is this a problem? Why not get another job? Why resort to cross dressing and suppressing your gender? Zak has a large family as well as the highest paying job - without his job, they would be living out of a forgotten cardboard box on the side of the road begging for coins to finally have a meal. What would happen if someone was to find out his secret? Still here? Let's get into the story!

Pattton Williams lives a relatively normal life among other humans. It wasn't until he bumped into the quiet and shy, VIrgil Sanders, that his life finally began to make sense. When Pattton's ex Logan is injured in a drowning accident, Pattton realises his own life is at risk. Despite VIrgil's shy and odd demeanour Patton finds himself falling for the ghost whisper. Only fate will decided whether he kills or protects him. However time changes and soon they both find out they need each other in order to live.

Ash being the girl that she is has poor manners and often daydreams of death and the supernatural. Her great great grandfather believed that he could communicate to the design, that no one actually passed away that there is no heaven but he was sure that hell existed. A boy that only she can hear haunts her every night yet that is not what terrifies her, it's the fact that the boy in her dreams is the one at her school and every time he sees her he whispers... "Mine"

Life has never been easy for Aurora Blackwood her dad died of cancer last year her youngest brother is deaf, her oldest brother lives in another country and her twin brother is one of the only people in the world she trusts.
