Steve Rogers has always felt the need to watch after Natasha Romanoff. Maybe because she was a girl. Maybe because he felt like he needed to keep her safe, but no matter, he took care of her, any way that he could. When the one man she's been with leaves unexpectedly, before Valentine's Day, Steve comes to the rescue.

Finding a new cover was hard for her this time, she had made an unexpected connection with him, and her leaving meant she'd probably never see him again. Steve stared at her as she drew farther and farther from his view. He questioned why she was really leaving because in all reality he wanted her to stay. She was one of the few people he trusted, and after of all that had just happened, he wanted someone he could trust by his side.

Steve was hiding out in Wakanda, with his best friend Bucky Barnes and with King T'Challa, who was kind enough to let the two stay there. When Steve hears a few familiar names in the news, he realizes what he has to do. He has to free his friends from the underwater jail.
