One day, everything was normal. The next, everything changed. What starts as a routine hospital visit turns into a moment that splits a young woman's life into before and after. As she navigates heartbreak, silence, rejection, and the weight of a diagnosis she never saw coming, she is forced to confront not just her reality but how the world sees her... and how she sees herself. This is not just a story about pain. It's a story about identity, resilience, and the quiet fight to believe that love is still possible even when everything feels lost.

Her eyes, green and profound, were akin to English meadows beneath the grey skies of April, abundant with stories whispered by the wind through ancient oaks. They embodied the calm of secluded gardens, the poetry of old, mossy walls, and the allure of mists lifting at dawn over damp paths. They were the scent enveloping the dawn, virgin kisses yet to be whispered in an ear, excitement and hope, fragile nails sunk into the flesh of the back, and legs that entwine and press. Julian's eyes, blue and boundless, were the ocean lapping the shores of San Blas, the Caribbean itself, Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao, nights in a Havana bar, the flickering light of a candle where the melancholic strains of 'Guantanamera' blend with the sensual rhythm of 'Chan Chan,' and couples dance closely until dawn under a tropical sky dotted with stars... Moreover, they were the Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia where the sky and sea merge and, with the same stubborn perfection, they reflected her lunar beauty. They were freedom and the air one breathes, adventure written in the waves. In those eyes was the call of the open sea, the promise of endless horizons, the pristine beauty of waters merging with the purest sky, making us feel alive, children of a limitless God... This is the story of a Love born in art, lived in desire, and grown among the buildings on fire. It's a story of respect and pain, for those two were accomplices, in times so humanly difficult.

Borderline Personality Disorder is a mental illness that is said to affect 1-2% of the general population. Other studies believe it to be more prevalent, affecting 5.9%. Those of us with Borderline Personality Disorder (also called Emotional Regulation Disorder) have difficulty regulating our emotions and thoughts. Our brains are highly sensitive to emotional stimuli. Once our emotions are stimulated, it can take a long time for them to return to baseline. Not only that but our emotions are felt at a much higher intensity than other people's. An event that may be unremarkable to someone without BPD can be stimulating enough to arouse our emotions for hours. Many people with BPD tend to only see situations in extremes. It can be hard for us to see the gray area. The people, places, and things around us are often sorted into a category of "all good" or "all bad." This is commonly referred to as splitting, black and white thinking, and all-or-nothing thinking. Splitting is difficult for not only us but for our loved ones, and it often puts a major strain on our interpersonal relationships. Furthermore, we have a tendency to see ourselves in the same way. Whereas one minute we may think we're unstoppable and capable of taking on the world, the very next we could feel undeserving of love or life. This pattern of thinking isn't a result of immaturity, stubbornness, or ignorance; it's a result of cognitive dysfunction. Chasing Rainbows is dedicated to my own personal struggle with Borderline Personality Disorder, and the many discoveries that have flooded my world with an array of colors since being diagnosed. WARNING: Due to the nature of BPD, some contents of this collection may be highly intense, and such may be triggering. Read at your own discretion. "Heavy Feelings" Heavy feelings putting everything at rest, killing me inside at its best, giving my heart an arrest. caressing me with its sword, I'm shivering in cold, while my whole body is in its behold. I will get no reward even if I'll surrender, every nerve cell is in thunder, I'm panting, shuddering while trying to be brave, I couldn't able to decide which way to choose as I'm losing my senses and giving myself bruise. I'm battling in silence, trying to build resilience, war is within me, I'm the creator of this brutal violence. I don't know which side will win, at the end, I'll be the one who will get abuse and there will be no one except myself whom I would accuse so at the end, I'm the only one who will lose. - Cadence Aurora
