However, at night, she becomes someone new, sneaking out of the academy to help homeless kids, teens, and mutants not end up like her.

The night the storm hit our school, the sky chose us before we even understood what that meant. One heartbeat we were arguing on the rooftop. The next a creature made of shadow launched itself into me and turned my body into a blur of impossible speed. A beam of silent light swept Tamsin into the clouds and something glowing woke up under my skin like it had been waiting for the right moment. By morning the teachers pretended nothing had happened. Security wiped the cameras clean. No one mentioned Tamsin's name. The only people who remembered the truth were Nia, Jace, Delta and me. We should have kept our heads down. This story is an homage/parody of the video game series Sonic the Hedgehog. As such, it all takes place on an alternate Earth -- better known as Immobi. This wicked wild world is home to a variety of anthropomorphic animals, including two 19-year-olds in particular. There's the good-sported, itchy-footed, and quick-witted Umeme Cheetah. Then there's the cocky, carefree, and foolhardy Radi O. Peregrine. The cat and bird are best buds who not only share a brotherly bond, but a need for speed as well. Hence their names (translated in Swahili) these two Immobians wield the power of electrokinesis. Pretty self-explanatory, but they're able to generate high amounts of electricity within their bodies -- allowing them to perform various tricks and techniques. The most prominent being to move at literal lightning speed, as our duo race across the vast African continent -- if not beyond -- in search of thrill and danger. Be it open plains, dense jungles, scorching deserts, or etc. etc. -- these sparking speedsters will certainly be there in a flash. Throughout their adventures, Umeme and Radi will come across various characters -- both friend and foe alike. With their most frequent foes being monstrous entities known as Nightmares. Created from a currently anonymous source, each kind varies from shape and size -- yet shares a common goal to wreak total chaos. While these Nightmares are determined to do so wherever they go, both cheetah and peregrine are determined to stop them in their tracks. So don't blink -- 'cuz if you ever see two streaks speed by, you can bet one hell of a storm's a brewin'.
