I could barely remember the last time I felt content with my life. I might get married soon and there won't be a single thing I could do about it, especially with my aunt tailing behind me. 'Am I alright? I am afraid I do not have a definite answer to your question, sir. Why do you ask, sir? Do not concern yourself with my petty feelings. I shall take care of myself. I am an independent woman and currently under the employ of one of the richest man in the entire England. I am fully capable of putting myself together and I shall be even better off with a chocolate bar...' I ranted monotonously for eternity without giving much of a thought. Blast you, human brain! 'Is that so, Mr.Linton?' he questioned again. I could see his little finger twitch while he maintained an icy cool demeanor. Somehow, I already knew he sensed my false claim. Lilly, say goodbye to the world. 'Why, yes sir. Mr. Ambrose sir.' I lied for yet another time. Dear lord, embrace my holy soul. Au Revoir. His chiseled jaw opened again only to speak,'Very well then, Mr. Linton. Bring me file MVC32XII7.' And with a swift movement he picked up his ink pen and started writing something against a white parchment. I let out a sigh. Lillian, what did you expect? Right after the storm that caused the ship that Lilly Linton and Rikkard Ambrose were on to sink, Lilly had to go to the lifeboats, her being a lady. Her tries to stay with Rikkard failed, and she was sent away from the breaking apart boat in a small raft with an old lady called Miss Timberlake and other young women to safety But Lilly had to watch the ship crack and break apart, With Rikkard still on it. Ever wondered what happened after that? P.S. : I DO NOT OWN ANY OF THE CHARACTERS, THIS IS A FANFIC FOR THE BOOK 'STORM AND SILENCE' BY ROB THIER AND I HAVE NO INTEND TO STEAL ANYTHING FROM IT, IT'S JUST A FANFIC I do realize that Sir Rob is writing "In The eye of the storm", the sequel to "storm and silence", but an almost 10 chapter fanfic won't hurt, right? My second place winning entry for Sir Rob's fanfiction contest! ____________________________ It should have been easier to find her, with less people in the way. It should have been the easiest mission in his life. He'd faced greater challenges than this and had triumphed every time. But what should have been an easy task was rapidly sending Rikkard into a slight panic. He had been looking for two hours. And she was still nowhere to be found. He wanted to yell. He wanted to rage and storm and trample the city over, tearing it out by its roots until he found her. He couldn't afford to lose her. He didn't want to lose her. The only thing he wanted was to find her and go home, away from this accursed place, far from its infinite streets and bothersome shopkeepers. He should have never come here. It wasn't worth losing two people in one night; first his prey and then the girl. It wasn't worth the failure he now felt the weight of on his shoulders, the hole in his heart. Funny.
