After a decision that splits Kylo Ren in two, Anakin takes the opportunity to talk some sense into his grandson. With a change of heart, Ben starts himself on the path towards a new destiny and is forced to come to terms with his past. Rey, in turn, finds herself moving towards a darker path filled with grief and family, as she strives to find her place in the galaxy. The only thing that links the two is an unspoken destiny, and mentors who leave them with more questions than answers.

Ben Solo was sent to Luke's Jedi Academy to become a Jedi. His skills were so great he was above his class in very little time. He eventually became Luke's apprentice but he still felt empty. Rey Kenobi was left and abandoned on Jakku by her parents for not being as great as her grandfather. She was so angry she was consumed by the dark side. Snoke immediately noticed and picked her up and perfected her skills. She had everything she wanted. Money. Power. But something was still missing. Luke still thinks he can save his old masters granddaughter but Ben isn't sure. Snoke thinks that Ben is an important asset but Rey isn't sure. When they meet they have an unshakable bond neither can deny. They hate each other. So why do they have a bond? Will Rey join the light. Or will Ben be seduced to the dark side? A.N. This is the first fanfiction I've ever written. When I saw The Force Awakens in theaters a couple weeks ago, I loved it. I had to express it one way or another. I was infatuated by the connection that the two characters (Kylo Ren and Rey) had. I really hope that there is more to come from the both of them. This is how I would've loved the ending fight scene between them to be, but it wouldn't work for obvious reasons. This pairing is the death of me, it really is. Hopefully it's good, and I hope that people like it. The fanfiction is short in comparison to some that I have read, all good might I add. Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy it.

For the millionth time, FN-2187 stares at the tattoo on his left forearm. It's a simple black bar, about five inches long and two inches thick. He doesn't wonder why he has it, or what it's for. It's always been there, since before he can remember anything. It doesn't mean much to FN-2187. It never has. It's simply something he guesses he was born with, since the First Order never bothered to explain it, and no one ever dared to ask. Or, a soulmate AU.
