Stormrising Geschichten

I watch in horror as Tova's lips part and a stream of bubbles is released from her mouth and the water pushes its way into her throat and lungs. She goes limp in my arms, unmoving. I hold on to her even tighter even though she is probably dragging me down and even though I am underwater I feel tears in my eyes as my brain becomes too foggy to focus and I feel the sting of salt water in my nose, my mouth, my throat, my lungs. I see the world around me slowly fade into black nothingness as I fall into death's welcoming arms.
