This was a story I wrote for my creative writing class based off of a picture. I liked it so much I thought I'd add it here. It takes place in a world where reading stories is outlawed and all the books have defense mechanisms in them. Mr. Linden is the only person in his small community that is allowed to have books. Even though they aren't allowed to read them, everyone is still curious, some more than others.
