The world I live in is a dark one. There are creatures that hunt in the light of the pale moon and then there are people, like my parents who get killed by them. I was raised by the entire village after their deaths, no one really wanting to keep me as their own, but all of them knowing that I am a bright light in the darkness that surrounds our small home... however, it is currently August of 1407 and my 16th birthday is toward the end of the coming Winter season, and it appears that the same Evil that had killed my parents is now hanging over my own head. But this Darkness is about to find out that I don't give up without a fight... that I am human... and that my name is Amelia Roark.

I've always been different from the people around me... I mean, you feel that's the way you feel when your parents were killed back when you were to young to even remember what they looked like and being forced to jump from one foster family to another doesn't make it any easier. I haven't felt compatible with of the families they've put me with... but that all changed when a lawyer called me, called me and told me about a lost will my father had left for me. Now I get to make my own place where I know I'll belong... but who are these neighbors who stir something deep within my blood? And what is the evil that has been following me in my wake?
