It's the year 1971, and Jane Thomas, a common girl, attends a baptism one day at a local church. However, once the baptism is over, Jane goes on with her life, only to find out life has chosen a very different path for her.

I woke up this morning with a sick feeling in my heart. It felt like the world was missing, and I was missing with it. I woke up before my alarm, two hours before, to be exact. I ran to the bathroom. You know how throwing up isn't fun? Lets just say I had zero fun from the hours of 4am to 6am. Going out is never worth it, I drink too much, talk too much, come home, stumble to my bed, then throw up the next morning, like this is normal. Last night I did happen to meet a boy, tall dark and handsome. Oh, and married. Hooray for me. I definitely have a type: Unavailable. I stumbled and hit my toe against the bed, the smell of pain, awe, so soothing. My dad, a normal sized man, taller than my mom, super old school, knocked on the door: 
"Miley," he said. "Not here!" I yelled.
