Will Byers is not ashamed of who he is anymore. He let go of Mike so easily back when the world was damn near at its end. But now that the world was back to normal, so were things with him and the Party. After graduating, Will felt freer than ever. But once Stacey invited the Party to her house to celebrate, they all really felt it. Free. Life had officially changed. It was time to let go of who they once were and let themselves morph into someone new. At Stacey Albright's party. Will was ready. But Mike seemed to be holding onto something Will thought they'd agreed to leave in the past... Or was it just the spiked punch talking?

Summary: Uploading my work from ao3 A rewrite of the events after Season 5, Episode 5. To (hopefully) ease the disappointment that so many of us are feeling, I wrote this fanfic addressing some issues and things we wanted to see more of, many of which we had with volumes 2-3 of the series finale. Notes: +I'll play it safe 'cause I don't think I'll be able to write character deaths/how others will grieve their deaths well +The melting room scene was not a breakup. It was a scene of a couple who finally decided to be honest with each other and grew stronger because of it. +I will be using theories made by different fans online +I'll be using dialogue from specific scenes in the series as well for a better understanding of the flow Please also lower your expectations for the quality of writing and vocabulary. I'm not very skilled or experienced in writing stories and dialogue. I think the storytelling feels script-like, too. Sorry about that.
