Jonathan Byers unwillingly goes to a house party.

But he keeps getting flashes of a "before" time - a time when he was in a place of white walls and needles. When he meets Eddie Munson, a trans golden retriever Satanist/Anarchist who is obsessed with D&D, he feels a sort of connection with him that he can't explain. Everything turns on its head when they break into the Lab's hidden archives to steal erased files, which contain mentions of a collection of kids who were experimented on decades ago. Why haven't they heard of this before? And what else might the Lab be hiding? In addition to this, the Mind Flayer has been woken up - and he is ready to remake the world. Will Eddie and Will survive or will they meet their demise like so many others?
