"Because if I succeeded, why'd I go back?" "I?" Eddie asked. You faltered. "I mean, you, or we, or whoever." Eddie sighed. "It's late, we should-" "No, answer my question, please," you practically begged. "It's simple, really." Eddie narrowed his eyes at you. "This is not simple subject matter, actually," he sassed, earning a glare from you. "And, besides, I don't understand your question." You groaned. "Okay, listen up." He nodded. "You time travel back in time to prevent a death. But, if you prevent that death, then...you prevented the death, so why go back? In that timeline, the death is prevented, so you don't need to go back, yet you did. What then?" Eddie shut his eyes and stroked his chin. "Uhhh...okay...." he trailed off, beginning to understand what you were getting at. "That's like uh- that would be a time paradox, right? In the quite town of Hawkins Indiana lived a group of idiotic love struck teenagers. One of them was a headstrong, stubborn, sarcastic kid called Y/n Wheeler. Y/n had always been the snarky kid who never shut up after you got to know her. She was a normal stupid teenager with a normal stupid teenage crush on her childhood best friend. Another one of those teenagers was Steve Harington. He was the loud, obnoxious, class clown, he smelt like strawberry's and daydreams. He lopsided smile could never fail to light up a room. He was a normal stupid teenager and just like Y/n he had a normal stupid crush on his childhood best friend. Both had only ever know the quite village life they were so desperately trying to shake away from. So, when Y/n dies and leaves him Steve crumbles. He swaps his smiles to cigarettes and becomes king Steve the dickhead school heart throb. When life seems to force love apart it feels like there's no point in living. When you lose the person you needed the most you lose everything. When the world sets on fire, we burn with it. When a heart freezes over, we need the one person who can thaw it. When the air gets to thick to breath, we long an air supply. When the earth crumbles around us, we smile to see the one last flower left. When the elements of the world fight you. You use your love to fight them back.

You've known Eddie for years, he was the first one supporting you after he learnt you were trans and it meant so much to you, knowing the environment you were living in (the 80's) and your transphobic family. You were also the first one learning about him being gay, therefore you were both really close, but also considered the biggest freaks of high school.
