Hawkins hides more than anyone suspects. Fourteen-year-old Freya Jade Veyne is drawn into a world of secrets and danger when one of the children she looks after - Will - suddenly disappears. Not everything is what it seems. This is the English translation of my original story. All characters and content in this story are my own creation. Set in the summer of 1985 in Hawkins, Indiana, the story follows Tianna Henderson, the sharp-witted and determined cousin of Dustin Henderson, who comes to town hoping for a normal summer job-and finds anything but normal. Tianna starts working at Scoops Ahoy in the brand-new Starcourt Mall alongside Steve Harrington, the once-popular jock turned reluctant ice cream employee, and Robin Buckley, a fast-talking, brilliant girl with a talent for codes and sarcasm. Between sticky floors, sailor uniforms, and difficult customers, the trio forms an unexpected friendship. When Tianna begins picking up strange radio signals after hours and notices customers behaving oddly, she realizes Hawkins is hiding secrets once again. As unexplained power outages spread through the mall and people start disappearing, Tianna is pulled into the same dark mystery that has haunted her cousin and his friends before. With the help of Steve's street smarts, Robin's intelligence, and Tianna's courage and intuition, the Scoops Ahoy crew uncovers a new threat lurking beneath Starcourt-one that connects to the Upside Down and puts the entire town in danger. Balancing humor, suspense, and emotional moments, the story explores loyalty, identity, and growing up, while showing how even an ordinary summer job can turn into a fight to save the world.
