The world has stayed in a state of peace for years, people embracing different ethnicities, cultures, sexual preferences and different body situations. It seems that world peace has finally come into play. Some would argue that the world has officially become... boring. A being which is filled with nothing more than a desire to have fun and observe is created by a seemingly unknown force. This being can harness the power of shadows. Within a week of his creation, he has already killed an entire theatre full of people and plunged the world into a state of fear once again. Using his shadow-bending ability, he was labeled 'Umbra' and begins to kill in a staple fashion, always leaving behind a recording of a shadow puppet show, mimicking the way the victim died. Slowly the world begins to crack down on Umbra, making it harder to kill. The world remains strong, despite Umbra's efforts. But when Umbra starts to lose control of his powers, when his temper starts to take over, will he become so powerful that he is no longer safe from himself?

Many serial killers share certain traits. History of abuse, unstable families, and untreated or misdiagnosed mental illness. They are also able to blend into society, manipulating their victims in order to satisfy their needs. Although she thinks of herself more as an anti-hero or vigilante, Liza is a serial killer. As a young, attractive female she easily meets and kills her victims in an almost routine fashion. Until she meets a victim with a plan of his own.

When Oliver Queen returns to Starling City after five years of being deserted on an island, no one expected him to ever be the same, but Eva Scott is startled by just how drastic the changes are in her best friend's older brother. He certainly isn't the party boy anymore, and she's not quite sure what to do with that. Eva is drawn to being Oliver's friend once again, despite her boyfriend's visible displeasure and the obvious secrets Oliver is keeping. She manages to dodge death a few times, but drama proves unbeatable as she faces issues with her job, the Hood, and her love life. Word Count: 43,114 (as of May 2nd, 2021) Warnings: addiction, lots of angst, maybe one or two cuss words, crappy boyfriend "The Hood anxiously watched from the roof of the hospital as they settled Eva onto the bed and wheeled her into the E.R. as fast as they could. The Hood stayed, long after Eva was rushed in, staring at the pavement where he had laid her down. He had vomit on his leather suit, and his gloves were off, so his shaking hands were visible. In his crouched position, he watched as an ambulance came blaring into the driveway and a man was wheeled out. Then, as if he'd discerned a secret signal in the blaring siren, he turned and jumped onto the next roof."

If you liked The Life of Single Parents you'll probably like this au, this is just more dramatic to fit more traditional western movies. Aaron, a teacher, moved to a small town with his daughter. He aimed to leave behind his past in the city and embark on a new life in peace. He began by restoring the abandoned school and doing what he loved by giving each child a fair chance to be educated. It wasn't always easy in the untamed town, especially not with the local farmer and his son testing his patience. Still, through shared experiences, both fond and dangerous, the teacher would find his heart captivated with the farm and its owner. Alexander was a farmer who almost constantly works in order to feed the town, he was the only farmer for quite some distance so the responsibility had fallen on him. He was a well-educated man and did his best to teach his son, but with upholding the duties of the farm as well as teaching, he felt he was growing behind a little more each day, so when a new teacher arrived he was happy to let his son attend. Little had he known the adventures this choice would bring and just how much of an impact the teacher would have on his life, both socially and romantically.

Every one is born with a special ability, something that sets you apart as Unique. For Annabel, she can read people's mind. What sets her as Unique is that she can live inside a serial killer's fantasy. Not your average Unique. Pretty and tall, she's destined to fall. Annabel and her twin brother Dorian are entered in an academy for people like them, for the Unique. Unique Academy only accepts the gifted and talented, so it should be a safe place for Annabel, right? WRONG. What Annabel doesn't know, will hurt Annabel. There's a serial killer on the loose, and this killer is obsessed with Annabel. One by one each of her friends fall down like dominoes, and poor Annabel has to figure out who's been stalking and murdering her friends and family. In a school of freaks, who could be the killer? Is it her twin Dorian? Or her grandfather who's come back to finish off his family? Is it one of her friends pretending to be a victim? Or perhaps the boy she's in love with him. In Unique Academy, any one could be the killer. Life just got even more hellish for the pretty girl with a secret.

I love all things Edgar Allan Poe, so when I first read The Tell-Tale Heart, I wanted to write my own tale told from the murderer's point of view. The only way I could make my own story work is if I write my own way - not copy, no homages. And, of course, get to a frame of mind to become a madman -- religious-zealot-misogynistic-first-kill-crazy-madman head (or what I think it is like). So, this is it. I hope you like this. ❤️ My Thank You's: 1. Thank you, Google! Lots of 'neck anatomy', 'strangle in detail' 'strangle fatal' 'trachea break' 'strangulation minutes to die' etc searches. 2. Thank you, Robert Ludlum and Jason Bourne, for teaching me when I was 15 the proper way to fatally strangle someone. 3. Finally, a huge thanks to my brother who gave me anatomical and medical advice. Me: Point to me how blue. (Beat.) Oh, very blue. Him: Purple, too. Me: If I strangle someone, how long will it take for them to die? 🔥💖

The average victim of abduction and murder is an approximately 11-year-old girl who is described as a "low-risk" child leading a normal family life. In 80% of cases, the initial contact between the victim and killer is within 1/4 mile of the victim's residence. Unfortunately, I know this statistic all too well. My daughter was 12-years-old by one month, five days, 19 hours, and 45 minutes. May 15, 1999, Andi, was kidnapped from her father's rural Arkansas home. After a three-day statewide search, the abductor confessed to the FBI that he had taken her from the home, driven her ten miles away down an old logging road where he had raped and strangled her. He covered her body with a scrub brush and returned to assist with the search. After a failed polygraph he led authorities to her body. He currently resides on Arkansas' death row. Finally, I ran for state representative in Arkansas in 2014 and am serving my third term in the House of Representatives. I serve as vice-chair to the House Judiciary committee and fight daily for children and victims in Arkansas and the nation. Additionally, I train law enforcement on the family perspective of the Amber Alert for Fox Valley Technical College through a Department of Justice program. This is Andi's story. This is my story.
