Margaret "Peggy" Fitzgerald, a recently divorced primary school teacher, moves back home for a fresh start. She buys a quaint, cottage on the Aussie coast in need of a lot of TLC. Rose lost her childhood sweetheart and their son in a tragic accident at an early age. While coming to terms with the heartbreaking losses she travelled all around Oz in her reliable Landrover. Now a competent, self-sufficient woman, she purchases a property outside a small rural Australian town. After a stormy first night on her new land, Rose rescues a Dingo X Heeler pup that soon fills an open place in her heart, becoming her best mate. In the small, friendly country town she meets some interesting characters, including the charming local vet Mitch and vivacious general store clerk Del. Alice moved from the big smoke to a small, country town to live with her grandparents when she was orphaned at age 12, with her pop passing away shortly after. Always a shy and introverted girl, she didn't make many friends except for Warren, the goofy boy next door. Alice never traveled far, but always had big dreams of seeing the world. Years later as her nan lays on her deathbed she encourages Alice to explore, to "get out and live a little". So Alice puts her life on hold and sets off on a gap year around Australia. With each new adventure and experience Alice learns more about herself and what she wants out of life. There are many such dictionaries and guides but I've tried to keep this one relevant to the tales I'm writing based in Arnhem Land, Down Under, Australia or many other names this gorgeous, diverse country is known as.
