As time went by, so did illegal racing. Cops had seen an uprise in street racing, and maybe a loud ZOOM of a street racer's turbo system kicking in, however there were 15, skilled experienced, racers which were different from any other racers. These racers wouldn't stand for anything and one of these racers was Razor. As a child, Razor wasn't the kindest kid. He always had fights in school and didn't listen to anyone. He didn't trust anyone however inside his rough mind, he had a very bright imagination. He always wanted to be a mechanic as he loved cars. If there was anything that could calm him down and that was cars. His ideal dream was to be the number one race car driver in the Rockport Championship, a winning champion with no rivals however his mind twisted his thoughts and soon he started to get an interest to street racing. With his dream becoming more a reality, he went for it...

A project for my Junior English class, I wrote a poem based on Chapter 34 of "Until They Bring the Streetcars Back," by Stanley Gordon West. An easy read with heavy themes, the book is both parts beautiful and horrific and I recommend it to any reader that wants a book they can interact with and respond to.
