I looked around me as I blew on my hands, trying to make them warmer. I didn't know at the time that it would only make my fingers colder in the end. The street lights slowly came on, one by one, illuminating the sidewalk. The one nearest me blinked on and a pool of light touched my feet. The road was otherwise lifeless and I thought that it would be best if I continued on. Walking only made my body more exhausted and colder still as I wandered streets. Would it be better to be in a residential area or more public? By myself or with others? Questions I never had to think about flooded my mind and I couldn't come up with an answer for any of them. With sudden realization, I understood that each choice I would make directly affected my survival. I was on my own, no house, no food, no money, no connections. This wasn't a game where there was the option of turning off the console and starting over from the last save point. As I stared at my surroundings, my brain finally summed up what I had wanted to suppress: this was life or death. Rather extreme for a person who was newly homeless but it was the truth nonetheless as the cold winter night settled in.

He didn't come to talk today either,i wanted to stay up late but yesterday's trip with dad made me nod off.I had put my head down on my laptop piled up with all my incomplete assignments ,when a notification got me up with a jerk.My neck had started to ache and I decided to go to bed when something made me stop midway. I saw a silhouette of a familiar figure sitting on the window sill head faced towards the dark midnight clouds which had started to overcast the moon. The street light right outside made the outline quite clear -shabby hair, hand on the knee pulled close to the chest; it is him again . I started walking towards him, I guess it was my sleepy eyes.He still seemed blurred like a silhouette . I sat beside him and mockingly said 'you love to take the cover of moonless nights don't you? He didn't reply like he always evasively did neither did he move an inch . 'Hey what's wron- i stopped as i nudged the thin air. The black figure turned his head as the street light went off. Hey reader! I am so happy that out of all the marvelous books on Wattpad you stumbled upon mine. If you liked the story then i would be more than happy if you support :) LAXIKA

→ "sometimes, the world is going to betray you. but that's okay. because i'll stay by your side no matter what anyone says." 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘮𝘦𝘵 𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘵𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘰𝘯 5𝘵𝘩 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘵. lee felix had never believed in fate. but a certain string of events begin to tilt his mindset in the opposite direction. maybe it was the sparkle in binnie's eyes. or maybe it was the way he reminded him so much of that boy back on 5th street.
