Hayley Corren, a bright, cheerful, and funny gal. She's like any other woman in the lonely and small tourist town of Ebott Town.... with a few secrets of her own. It wasn't till three in the morning that the town's main and infamous attraction, Mount Ebott, set off a figurative but literal explosion that practically shook the town to its core. While everyone is freaking out over it and the arrival of the monsters of legends from the mountain, Hayley is making sure to stay put in her apartment till everything settles down. Which, knowing how humanity is, could be a while. Her "best friend" and her boyfriend seem not so friendly towards the monsters as some of the other folks in town. But Hayley wants to at least give them the benefit of the doubt. But it wasn't till the reunion between her and the monster's ambassador, Chara, that she forms a friendship with Chara's closer monster friends. Including the Skeleton Brothers. And between Sans who always seems to brighten her day with his smile and optimism and Papyrus with his charm and puns, there's no end of the fun! It's not till later that secrets start to spill and relationships that are tested. And what's the problem with the mountain and the land? Ever since the barrier broke, magic seems to be creating havoc and drastic changes that both the humans and monsters have never seen before! This fanfic is about what would happen if Corrupted could control Dream, by grafting a negative personality onto his body, without affecting the golden apple. Nobody knows that Dream and Nightmare are brothers, and Corrupted decides to give Dream a second chance at being his brother again. Corrupted's mentality was twisted by the apple incident, but still wants Dream to stay with him. Corrupted is not the brother Dream once knew, he is controlling Nightmare's dead body, yet is haunted by memories of Dream. He was never a good person before he tried to kill Nim, so nobody ever loved him. This makes Nightmare's memories of Dream the first time Corrupted ever experienced love... not LOVE though... he has a lot of that. He was an EXP gatherer who killed for fun. Corrupted develops a sick longing for the memories Nightmare had with Dream, and creates Inverted to recreate those memories. Both Inverted and Corrupted are trying to take a sibling bond which was never theirs to begin with, and they are both aware that the other isn't really their 'brother'. Oh, this has no ships, almost forgot :)

It looked like everywhere he turned, around every corner, they knew where to find him. It was like a game of hide-in-seek, a game he was failing miserably at.
