Janhae is the untouchable President of the Economics Society. Brilliant, composed, and intimidatingly beautiful, she takes her role as a master's student and Teaching Assistant incredibly seriously. Jingjing Yu is a quiet, strictly-business freshman who just wants to pass her microeconomics class and survive her first year. But when wild campus rumors start spreading that the two of them are a couple, it coincides perfectly with a persistent lacrosse player cornering Jingjing at the library. Instead of shutting the gossip down, they agree to a strict, professional arrangement : they will pretend the rumors are true to protect Jingjing from unwanted attention. It is supposed to be a simple, academic shield. But Janhae takes the role of "protective girlfriend" dangerously seriously. Memorized coffee orders, heavy glares at anyone who looks at Jingjing for too long, and lingering touches that happen even when there is no audience around to perform for. As the lines of their fake relationship begin to blur into suffocating domesticity, Jingjing realizes that her purely professional respect for her TA is rapidly turning into something entirely real. And judging by the panicked, desperate way Janhae looks at her when they are alone, the brilliant master's student might be failing her own parameters, too.

This story is about the clash and eventual connection between two very different teens: Kyle, a privileged but underachieving rich kid, and Aiden, a hardworking, no-nonsense tutor from a humble background. It explores themes like responsibility, stereotypes, and personal growth as Kyle struggles to meet his parents' expectations while Aiden challenges his attitude and work ethic. Their forced partnership starts off rocky because of their opposing personalities and backgrounds, but it hints at deeper emotional developments as they learn from each other. Kyle Ramirez is a 17yrs old senior who seems to have it all looks, charm, money, and popularity. But what he doesn't have? Good grades. His rich, perfectionist parents are threatening to cancel his dream trip abroad if he doesn't pass his final exams. As punishment, they hire a private tutor someone highly recommended but known to be "strict and intense." Enter Aiden Cruz, 18, a no nonsense top student from a public school who tutors part-time to help his struggling family. Aiden thinks spoiled rich kids like Kyle are the worst entitled, lazy, and always getting what they want. From the very beginning, he makes it clear: He's not here to be Kyle's friend. He's here to make sure Kyle doesn't fail. Kyle, who's used to getting his way, tries to charm Aiden at first with jokes, sarcasm, and flirting (partly just to annoy him). But none of it works. Aiden remains cold, professional, and distant.
