Selenicereus anthonyanus is one such succulent that can immediately start conversations for its beauty. This fascinating cactus variety has multiple common names that include Fishbone cactus, Ric rac cactus, and zig-zag cactus. These names resemble the unique shape and pattern of its leaves along a mid-spine that appears like a fish bone. Apart from these common names, it is also known as orchid cactus, which makes more sense when the fishbone cactus blooms and produces beautiful white to purple and pink orchid flowers. https://planetdesert.com/blogs/news/how-to-grow-care-for-selenicereus-anthonyanus-fishbone-cactus

  • How to Prune succulents? by planetdesert

One of the biggest reasons to prune succulents is to prevent the plant from stretching out, which it does when it receives too little light. The plant is beheaded from its top, in this case. After all, pruning succulents may appear intimidating; who like to behead their favorite houseplants with a sharp tool. However, trimming is essential for letting the plant grow and thrive. It's like our hair that needs a regular chop for healthy, shiny growth. The after-growth of pruning results in enhanced looks of your succulent. So, why not? Pruning also helps in the multiplication of the plant. https://planetdesert.com/blogs/news/how-to-prune-succulents

Do you have problems growing succulents? Are they dying on you, despite your best efforts? Do you want to learn how to take care of them properly, and watch them grow for years? This book may be for you! I've been growing succulents for a while now, and I wanted to collect everything I've learned (online and by word) into one place, and maybe it'll help others who want some green in their lives, but don't want the full commitment. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Succulentsandsunshine.com is a very helpful website for those who are looking into growing succulents (where I learned in the beginning). I would also recommend joining some Facebook groups dedicated to succulents, as they have advice and tricks you might find work better than these. Also, if you're having trouble identifying your succulent, I recommend going to r/whatisthisplant, as they've helped me multiple times, and are very kind and helpful about it.

If you are a succulent lover, grower, or gardener, you may have often come across the caudex variety. The swollen trunk is a giveaway. These plants are also called caudiciform plants. Interestingly, most of the plants in this group have intriguing names. Since they look different yet elegant, they are good indoor ornamental plants. Most of the caudex varieties are succulents, but there are bonsai, caudex trees, and vines. Some belong to the bulbs and grass types. https://planetdesert.com/blogs/news/caudex-plants
