Jenaqueta Silva and Caleb Harland What ever made her think she could take this man on? Persuade him to change his mind? Guts, he thought. Brave and foolish, not a good combination. In the back of his head he lodged the fact her courage was fuelled by loyalty. She came to his office to tell him, well, actually, ordered him not to date Melanie, her cousin's fiancee! Except the engagement was not 'official'....

Rafe Harlington and Marina Sojour-D'Sa met at various social functions, moved in similar circles and worked in the medical profession. Marina had initially pursued a career in medicine because of him! For at the ripe old age of fifteen she heard he was at University studying medicine, and that's when she decided to become a medic! The only problem was that he clearly did not see her as a medic. Didn't see her at all, apart from registering the fact that she was simply a socialite temping on his ward. But she loved medicine. Ok, so her reasons for initially choosing were dodgy, but she had put in six hard years, and she loved every moment. Well, nearly every moment. Just as she loved him. Most of the time!

In this day and age a marriage of convenience could work well. They could lead separate lives in private, as long as they ensured they were seen together in public. Simple. He knew he didn't love her. He knew she didn't love him. The marriage was temporary. The grandparents might not know that, but David had read her eyes and knew, that she like him had the divorce card available and had no qualms should the time come to use it. That was the time.

This is the sister book to "Captivation" Compulsion presents Georgia's and Elias' story. In Georgia's teenage head she was the too tall, too gangly, geeky kid whose one date with Elias the ultra cool kid at school was an unmitigated disaster. The fact their families were good friends meant that she wasn't able to simply forget him. Dealing with the past was proving to be complicated. In Elias' adult head Georgia was the gorgeous, elegant, smart woman whose ability to avoid him was starting to frustrate him. The fact their families were close friends meant he had plenty of opportunity to meet her. Taking things forward was turning out to be far from simple.

Love is the glue: it makes people want to keep their commitment to someone, no matter what happens, just a shame that Regan and Gray's relationship was based upon agreed commitment but trust, honesty and openness was missing from the start. Commitment started when Regan took on Gray, his sister and his grandfather. Regan provided a roof for all of them, and she gave Gray a job on her farm. Commitment was shifting because love was faced with unrevealed undercurrents.

This is the sister book to Compulsion. Captivation presents Caitlin's and Jared's story. The man walking beside her was anything but safe. Nothing like tedious. Jared was the kind of man Caitlin had fantasies about, someone who knew their mind and didn't allow her father's standing in the community to influence their actions. The man who escorted her toward the dance floor was a law unto himself. She'd heard enough about him to know that he took little notice of protocol and even less of status. He was never short of female company. But she was surprised to find that she had registered on his radar. Sadly she had registered for all the wrong reasons, as far as he was concerned.

It was to be a merger rather than a marriage of convenience. She needed to be married, by her thirtieth birthday and he needed to be married to avoid a take-over and to hold on to the firm that had been run by his family for decades. During their one and only meeting over lunch they had agreed on the finer points of this merger. Their engagement would be large and loud. He'd insisted on that. Their wedding would be small and private. She'd insisted on that. They would live together for a year, and they both agreed, it would be sufficient for their situation. A shame it was that simple.

They'd survived two years of a cold war: David McKenzie and Gabriella Jones rarely spoke to each other. He thought she was pretentious and unkind and she thought he was an arrogant jerk.He usually seemed to have a radar alert where she was concerned. Not that he was the only one contributing to the cold war. She avoided him at all costs. They had a history and years of festering resentment would need just a spark to ignite it.
