The Crystal Gems can't find a way to fix Steven after his corruption. The Diamonds' healing essence won't work, no matter how much they use. After much arguing and fretting over a solution, Pearl suggests an alternative that has a high chance of failing. But if there's even a possibility that it might work, it's worth taking.
