Amidst the hustle and bustle of the high school corridors, Aloisia moved like a shadow. She was there, but untouchable. Old wounds from her childhood had hardened into a crust that kept her from opening up. For her, making friends meant giving others permission to hurt her again. So she kept her distance while maintaining her kindness. But without realizing it, she had built a wall too high for anyone who tried to approach her.
