Eudoxia Ivanovna was the daughter of a Russian Priest and a minor noblewoman. She was to marry a minor boyar whom her parents had arranged for her. It all came shattering when the Tatars raided the village and abducted Eudoxia. They took her to Constantinople. She was installed in the harem of Sultan Murad IV, who was a cruel sultan. Before Hurrem, but after Mahidevran and Gulfem, there was Gevherhan. A year after Sehzade Mustafa was born, Mina would give birth to a daughter named Zeynep and would surprise many, including Suleiman himself when she was happy with a girl instead of a boy being born. Mina had said that she was happy because then none of her sons would face danger from their half or even full blooded brothers, which earned her annoyed hatred from Mahidevran but secret praise from Valide Hafsa Ayse Sultan. When Suleiman ascends the throne as Sultan Suleiman I, a heavily pregnant Mina, now known as Gevherhan(Suleiman gave her the name after she had talked with him on his jewelry making) and Zeynep go from Manisa to Constantinople/Istanbul with everyone else. When Hurrem and Mahidevran's antics often tire Suleiman, he finds comfort in Gevherhan's presence as she seems content with being the mother of a sultana than a sehzade. But, a few days after Suleiman's ascension to the throne, Gevherhan goes into labor and gives birth to twins, a girl and boy, thus now forcing Gevherhan into playing the game so that her son will live. Whose son will ascend as Sultan after Suleiman? Mahidevran's, Hurrem's or Gevherhan's?

This story is based on the events recorded by one of many eyes and ears within the harem of Sultan Suleiman. This story is the story of Gülbeyaz Haskei Sultan; the mother of 14 children of Suleiman's. This story was inspired by the records from the harem from 1511 until the death of Gülbeyaz in 1582. Some of the events are based on historical fact and the personal writings of Gülbeyaz and the people in her life. This story follows her life as she enters the harem of Suleiman and as she navigates life as one of Suleiman's consorts and a mother and the life in the Ottoman Empire.
