This story is based on the events recorded by one of many eyes and ears within the harem of Sultan Suleiman. This story is the story of Gülbeyaz Haskei Sultan; the mother of 14 children of Suleiman's. This story was inspired by the records from the harem from 1511 until the death of Gülbeyaz in 1582. Some of the events are based on historical fact and the personal writings of Gülbeyaz and the people in her life. This story follows her life as she enters the harem of Suleiman and as she navigates life as one of Suleiman's consorts and a mother and the life in the Ottoman Empire.
