Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent was the first person to grow tulips on purpose. He really liked tulips, so much that he had pictures of them on his clothes. Rich people even put a single tulip on their fancy hats, called turbans. Because of this, European travelers and diplomats started calling tulips "lâle" (pronounced as "lale" in modern Turkish). Tulips were brought to Holland from the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century. Just a few years after arriving in Holland, tulips became the most popular-after commodity in the entire Netherlands. The cultivation and spread of tulips in Europe is often associated with the Dutch Golden Age of the 17th century, particularly the tulip mania that occurred in the Netherlands during that time. Tulips were introduced to Europe from the Ottoman Empire, where they were already popular. To read more, please visit this very link: https://www.timeprinternews.com

She was born as the stars whispered secrets, beneath a spring sky in 1507, when the Pleiades shimmered too brightly to ignore. Odette Lyra Sinclair - a name once erased, a girl once cast aside. The bastard of a future king, exiled to France with her mother, raised among roses and ghosted titles. Polished, fluent, veiled. Then came the winter of 1518, sharp with destiny. Taken by pirates, lost to the waves of fate - only to resurface in the silken shadows of the Imperial Harem. November 24th, they record. She was brought not for pleasure, but to serve Hatice Sultan - and yet, history would remember her for much more. She was not loud. Her steps were hushed, her gaze unreadable. Still, the palace noticed. In the letters of the Valide, in the journals of the court stewards, in the glances exchanged when she passed - she was there. The White Phantom. The Veiled One. The girl who bowed, but never bent. For two years, the Sultan wondered. She intrigued him not with laughter, but with silence. He saw her with Mustafa, with Hatice, with Mahidevran - and always, she turned away. But fate is persistent. And one day, at a game of chess, his hand brushed her veil. And the world shifted. He never let her hide again. She bore him eight children. She wore a crown of sapphires that sang of forgotten oceans. He wrote her into verses, painted her with trembling fingers. She obliged the Crown not by demand, but by becoming indispensable - the soul he could not rule without. Others were queens. She was the Sultana of the Jahan.

Since the day of her kidnapping by the Tatars, Leo has spent years searching for his lost love, and when he finally finds her, she has changed, she is no longer 'his Alex'. And he cannot accept it. Through Nigar, the sultana exchanges a few letters with him, trying in vain to convince him to leave Constantinople. One day, inexplicably, the Grand Vizier reveals to Nigar that he is aware of the ongoing correspondence. SHE GASPED AS SHE DROPPED the pan of water, splashing not only herself but the elegantly dressed man before her. Immediately, she had removed her cloak and began to dab at the fine brocade before looking into his face to apologize. "I am so sorry, Your Lordship," she mumbled, knowing that the Sultana she worked for would be cross should she find that she had ruined a guest's article of clothing. She always hated having to explain their terrible lack of judgement. "Please forgive my error." "Who are you?" He questioned, his pale eyes curious and warm as he took her hand in his own. He didn't seem to mind that his clothes had been ruined and for a moment, Althea felt her heart stutter in her chest. "Althea," she said before clearing her throat before speaking once more. "Althea Hatun; a captive from Greece that had been bought by Fatma Sultan but given to Üveys Pasha as a maid. And you, sir?" The man smiled before bending down to help her with the water pan. "I am naught but a simple poet. My name is inconsequential."

Part One of Magnificent Century: The Sultan's Gem Before Hurrem, but after Mahidevran and Gulfem, there was Gevherhan. Born in the Balkans(what later would be Serbian), her Christian name was Mina Pavlović before she was captured and brought to the Ottoman Empire, to Manisa and to the harem of Sehzade Suleiman. A year after Sehzade Mustafa was born, Mina would give birth to a daughter named Zeynep and would surprise many, including Suleiman himself when she was happy with a girl instead of a boy being born. Mina had said that she was happy because then none of her sons would face danger from their half or even full blooded brothers, which earned her annoyed hatred from Mahidevran but secret praise from Valide Hafsa Ayse Sultan. When Suleiman ascends the throne as Sultan Suleiman I, a heavily pregnant Mina, now known as Gevherhan(Suleiman gave her the name after she had talked with him on his jewelry making) and Zeynep go from Manisa to Constantinople/Istanbul with everyone else. When Hurrem and Mahidevran's antics often tire Suleiman, he finds comfort in Gevherhan's presence as she seems content with being the mother of a sultana than a sehzade. But, a few days after Suleiman's ascension to the throne, Gevherhan goes into labor and gives birth to twins, a girl and boy, thus now forcing Gevherhan into playing the game so that her son will live. Whose son will ascend as Sultan after Suleiman? Mahidevran's, Hurrem's or Gevherhan's?

"I would appreciate it if you minded your manners when in the presence of a Sultana." Meher said matter of factly, looking at the red headed and heaving hatun. Though she had given birth to a son, the Sultan still saw fit to keep her position the same. "Remember that you are a concubine, a conquered woman, of our Sultan." "I am a Sultana as well!" She shrieked, stomping her foot much as a child would. "Hürrem Sultan!" As she settled a hand on her son's shoulder to lead him away and to their quarters, the Sultana threw over her shoulder. "And yet ... On the rosters, you are listed as Hürrem Hatun."
