Kathleen 'Kat' Lathens is a down-to-earth girl who hates boys and Amber 'Ammie' Nicholson is a bold and daring girl who has a big love for everyone with a deep husky voice and plays a manly sport like football. A summer in Miami tests how strong a newly formed friendship can be and tests how long they can stay together when a boy comes into the picture. When the pasts starts to unfold itself in front of Kathleen she begins to doubt the people who she calls family.
