Basically a re-imagining of the fight/breakup/ make-up scenes in Episodes 22/ 23. Angst, hugs and kisses, and someone's red hair-tie comes undone. This is set during Sunshot Campaign, mostly based on The Untamed/ CQL version of events... Consider Lan WangJi explains to YanLi about the harm the new cultivation path could cause Wei Ying, who walks in thinking Lan Zhan tattled on him to his Shijie, Lan Zhan walks away and then they fight... Suppose the fight went differently and they did *not* end up on the rooftop to talk it out. Suppose LWJ walked away again, and we have the awful sect leader drama dinner which LWJ skips altogether to play the Guqin for his cryptic boyfriend who also walks out of dinner and lurks outside his room... Only, instead of walking away, Wei WuXian walks into his room, and they have a different kind of...conversation. Same end result as the rooftop scene.

Lan Qiren was an overworked history professor who quite literally worked himself to death only to awaken inside the very history book he'd been studying: The Downfall Of The Qishan Wen Clan. He had transmigrated to a time when cultivation still existed, when Wen Ruohan had not yet become a tyrant and, most importantly, into the body of none other than Lan Qiren himself. Adhering strictly to the rules of the cultivation world, Lan Qiren lived quietly until, in one night hunt, a strange system suddenly appeared in his mind, claiming it could return him to the modern world. Seizing the chance, he punches the heir of the Wen Clan mid-battle while the other was preoccupied as a way of letting him pay for the future atrocities. But when the system failed to transport him back, he found himself face-to-face with a strangely composed Wen Ruohan and his unreadable expression, his eyes far too calm. Now, with no clear way out and a future tyrant watching his every move, Lan Qiren must ask himself: can he escape this dangerous situation... or has he already been caught?
