This will take place after the bad ending, however, Sunny survived and has already confessed. The friend group is all currently still struggling through the truth, but Kel still refuses to give up, taking it upon himself to stitch their friend group back together. Sunny had just moved from Faraway town, right after he told the truth, Kel couldn't stand the fact his best friend had just moved and was upset at the thought so he invited Sunny to spend the week at his house. However, some interesting, romantic, and depressing events happen during this week. Kel labeled this week as "depressing love" Sunny labeled it as just "depressing". But he genuinely thought some parts were actually fun and cute. Sunny and Kel are teenage boys with enough emotional baggage to fill all the overhead compartments of a 747. They would do well to unpack it together, but haven't spoken in years despite being neighbors. It's easier not to dredge up the past, after all. But Kel gets a rude awakening on the first day of summer vacation telling him that as far as he and Sunny are concerned, it's now or never. Will the strength of their old bonds finally compel them to start speaking again? And will they discover something deeper than friendship as they dig through their shared trauma together? This fic explores how things might go down if Kel had reached out to Sunny as soon as the FOR SALE sign went up, rather than waiting for THREE DAYS LEFT. The focus will be on Sunny and Kel, but other characters will be introduced and play meaningful roles as the story unfolds. Expect plenty of angst, soul-searching, and general emo-ness, but some happier, lighter moments as well. Also, I don't buy into the whole "all the parents in OMORI are horrible people" trope, so I tried to humanize them ... they're flawed but trying their best.
