Being turned into a vampire at eleven sounded exciting... ...for about the first year. Five centuries later, it's mostly paperwork. You can't rent an apartment because everyone thinks you're a child. You need adult-looking vampires to pretend to be your parents just to see an R-rated movie. Every few decades, you fake your identity and start elementary school all over again, smiling politely while your history teacher explains events you personally witnessed. Thankfully, there's a support group. A secret community for vampires who were turned as children or teenagers, where the members are centuries old, dress like grandmas because that's how old they feel, and help each other survive a world that refuses to believe they're adults. For Elias, who has looked eleven since the seventeenth century, life gets a little easier thanks to his "guardian"-a vampire who looks thirty but is actually younger than he is. To everyone else, they're parent and child. In reality, they're two cranky elderly roommates who argue over chores, complain about modern life, and occasionally have to fool teachers, cashiers, and government officials into believing they're a perfectly normal family. A heartwarming supernatural comedy about found family, eternal childhood, and the strange reality of growing old without ever growing up.

Waverly Odessa is a twenty two year old college student in her last year of her undergrad program. From the outside looking in, she has it all figured out. However, Waverly has a secret she's been carrying with her, no one knows. She's been sick. The prognosis is 3-5 years. It's been two years since she was diagnosed. And now she isn't sure the degree she pursued is what she fully wanted. Luke Odessa is Waverly's thirty year old brother. He rented a house less than a couple miles from her university so she had a place to stay and a person to lean on if she needed it. He's there just in case she falls too ill. Zach Rivers is a twenty two year old student she met in her English course. He has the looks but not the grades. After finding out she's doing well in class, he asks for her help. She agrees to help him. After all, he's kind and polite. And all Waverly wants is a one way ticket to a better place when her time comes. Jack Everson is a professor in her creative writing class with a PhD in English and writing. After Waverly realizes her dream of becoming an author, even if it's just one book, she confides in him. Explaining to him that she doesn't know how much time she has left, he agrees to help her find her way in the world of writing. Heidi Everson, Jack's wife is the support group leader of Heidi's Miracles and a survivor as well. She helps Waverly truly come to terms with her diagnosis because she believes everyone deserves peace of mind, whether or not they survive.

There was something fragile in her mismatched eyes. I couldn't place it, but something hid there, just below the surface. She stared at me, voice crumbling and lost and oh so fucking beautiful. "You can't be with me, Isaac." I stepped closer. She was right. There was so much wrong with both of us. We were destined to fall apart; it was only a matter of when. "I know. I'm a mistake, you're a disaster." "Yeah." Her hair was falling in front of her eyes again, covering the tiny flecks and the little scar under her left eyebrow. My fingers yearned to touch it. "I'll ruin you." "Let's ruin eachother." - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - For Isaac Darlings, the only relief in life seemed to be drugs. Living with anger issues and no goals, an excstacy overdose lands him in multiple hospital visits and forces him to see a psyciatrist, who in turn suggests he joins a support group, and after much persuasion he agrees. Via Hale is, in no accounts, normal. Hopelessly depressed and sufferer of recurring nightmares, there is little hope to her life, even in the day time. The trauma of past events in her life makes her difficult to befriend, unstable to talk to. Perhaps that is why her therapist forces her to attend a support group, wanting her to branch out. Five mentally-unhealthy teenagers are thrown together in unlikely circumstances. * * * * * * * * * * * * * All copyright goes to exiistentialcrisis, author of this particular text.
