I'm Tara Fields I'm 16 years old and I have selective mutsim. I guess that's why my mom got me the journal. To write down my thoughts and what I would of said if I could. I mean I could say stuff I just don't feel like it. It's more of me being anxious. It's not like I can't speak, I just...don't. It's hard to explain. Sometimes the words just get stuck in my throat, and other times I feel like if I open my mouth, I'll just embarrass myself. And the anxiety just makes it worse. It's like a vicious cycle. It's not easy living with selective mutism. It's hard to make friends when you can't talk to people. And even the friends I do have don't really get it. They think I'm just being shy or antisocial, but it's so much more than that. Its a silent prison I carry it around with me every where I go.

In which two boys meet at a support group.

There was something fragile in her mismatched eyes. I couldn't place it, but something hid there, just below the surface. She stared at me, voice crumbling and lost and oh so fucking beautiful. "You can't be with me, Isaac." I stepped closer. She was right. There was so much wrong with both of us. We were destined to fall apart; it was only a matter of when. "I know. I'm a mistake, you're a disaster." "Yeah." Her hair was falling in front of her eyes again, covering the tiny flecks and the little scar under her left eyebrow. My fingers yearned to touch it. Living with anger issues and no goals, an excstacy overdose lands him in multiple hospital visits and forces him to see a psyciatrist, who in turn suggests he joins a support group, and after much persuasion he agrees. Via Hale is, in no accounts, normal. Hopelessly depressed and sufferer of recurring nightmares, there is little hope to her life, even in the day time. The trauma of past events in her life makes her difficult to befriend, unstable to talk to. Perhaps that is why her therapist forces her to attend a support group, wanting her to branch out. Louis Tomlinson has been with a support group for single dads ever since the mother of his son, Freddie, decided she wasn't ready to be a mum. The transition from a single man to dad wasn't easy for him in the beginning but he's gotten himself into a nice routine. Louis knew he'd never be in a relationship with her anyway because he's gay. His heart only broke for their son because he's not sure he'll ever have the chance to meet her. The support group has helped him out tremendously. He even leads some of the group meetings. During one meeting there's a new face - Liam Payne, a shy young father who is quite lost because him and his high school sweetheart have ended their relationship, leaving Liam to only seeing his baby boy, Bear, occasionally. Louis decides he really wants to help Liam out with his situation. The two become fast friends and Louis starts falling for Liam, who Louis thinks is straight.
