The story begins in the City of Pi-Ramesses, Egypt approximately in the year 1300 BC. The powerful Pharaoh Seti I ordered the murder of male Hebrew babies. A Hebrew couple, composed of Amram and Jochebed and their children Miriam and Aaron, defies the king's order and hides their son Moses for three months in a basket that floats down the Nile River, hoping that God will take him to safety. The basket carries Moses into the hands of Princess Hetnumire, who is moved by the image of the orphaned child and decides to adopt him. Moses is raised as an Egyptian prince along with Ramesses II and Nefertari, who captivates both men. Shortly after, Moses finds out about his Hebrew origins.

This is a short thriller/horror story I wrote in my 8th grade ELA class. We were told to write a short story based around the horror genre, and we had to include all 5 senses at least once. I got 100% on this assignment. Enjoy! And honestly it's not that scary.
