Swamy Koragajja is a popular deity in the Tulu Nadu region of Karnataka. He is believed to have taken an incarnation in the human form as Koraga Thaniya, who lost his mother at a young age and was raised by his grandmother1. He was a devotee of Panjandaya Banta, another local deity, and carried seven loads of offerings to his temple. However, he was denied entry by the priests and cursed them. He then saw a citron tree leaning towards the temple and plucked a fruit from it. The fruit turned into a bell, which he used to invoke Panjandaya Banta. The deity appeared before him and blessed him with divine powers. He then became known as Swamy Koragajja
