Tatum's life growing up was horrid, disgusting, pathetic, and whatever word you could possibly use to describe how crappy it was. From being separated from her parents because of an argument with her mother's parents (a story for another day), to being abused nearly every day, she rarely ever caught a break.
She tried, like really tried, to forgive and forget. To love and care as how she was expected to, but her mind poisoned her with vicious thoughts. She couldn't tell her parents anything for the fear of being a disappointment. Not that she'd ever say that out loud.
Now at 17, her life being somewhat more manageable, everything goes, once again, down the drain. Turns out she isn't her parents' biological daughter.
Sounds great right?
Nope.
Now she's stuck trying to sort through her memories, to see which are lies and which are true. She should be happy that she's getting a fresh start, but some part of her is afraid that she isn't good enough for the people who claim to be her real family.
From misery and pain, to love and care. It's all too confusing for someone who was trained to believe that everything happens for a reason. Because what could possibly be the reason behind her messed up life?
