This misfit prefers the company of her long time best guy friend (and secretly crushing on her) Max and fiery girl Cali. They're all she needs, until a new guy makes his appearance in her life in a less than graceful debut. Haylen Winters is your typical rock loving, skinny jean and band tee wearing hottie that drops into Roxi's life complete with an arrogant attitude and a foot in his, usually smooth-talking, mouth. As Roxi and Haylen collide sparks begin to fly, but half the time they can't tell if they're the good or bad kind. Roxi does her best to avoid the blue-eyed menace that is turning her dull life as an outcast upside-down with his annoying smirk, while Haylen himself tries to fight against the spunky female that has his already shaky world spinning. One day while you were at the old swim club, you ended taking a dip in the pool and you almost drowned, until Haruka, one of the members of the swim club, saved you. But that little event had forever made you terrified of water. Can your best friends help you overcome your hydrophobia? Or will you forever remain horrified of water?

The year is 1973, yet in the little sleepy town of Riley you would be forgiven for thinking it was 1920. A little small town still living in the past, things are simple in little old Riley. Or were. The Lake has come. No one knows exactly what it is, where it came from, or what it wants, all they know is it brings with it the stench of death. For a sleepy little town Riley sure holds a lot of secrets. And they can't be kept forever. The Lake is here. And it's getting bigger.

But then, she came once again and changed everything.... Naveline's P.O.V Ever since kindergarden, I always admire Endride. He's really good at swimming, whereas I have nothing good at except for a little bit piano and singing. But ever since Junior Highschool, he stopped swimming. I frowned, waiting for his return. But, he'll never if I don't dragged him. And that day, I decided to wake him up, bringing him back to the world he belongs to. Thought, his world is my nightmare.....

I had thought swimming wasn't what I wanted to pursue in life. Did it take a chance reunion to change all of that? Am I doing this because I really want to? "You can't leave to Australia!!!" Haru said to me very worried, "I... I can't be without....Y....you!" He blushed wildly. I stood there trying not to cry, It was the worst feeling ever leaving my best friend. But to be honest I think it the best, for both of us. I was growing onto him, I have always liked him, but I don't think he ever felt the same way. Sometimes I have the urge to tell him but I always imagine that our whole friendship will change because of me. On the last day before I was leaving to Australia I challenged Haru to a swimming race of 100 meters, he never ever liked to race or do anything in swimming that involves with competition, but he accepted and we did the race and..... I lost. That's not surprising but I guess that is one of the reasons I'm leaving to Australia, so I can get better and beat him again one day when we cross paths. But when I lost and looked into Haru's eyes I started to tear up, and so did he.

Malia is broken. She planned to have a normal high school experience, but does that all change when she meets a few new friends who ease her into tearing down her wall that protects her emotions. Or does she encounter a few enemies along the way that will ruin her life. Read to find out.... Authors Note: Hi!! This is my first book I've ever written so bare with me.
