It's Oliver and Yaro's first year at Deviant's Academy for the Gifted in Cody, Wyoming, with Pen, another winged boy who's a bird out of flight, Hae, a mysterious Korean first year who can see the future, Becca, with a dark secret even she didn't know she had, her best friend Jem, who can grow a garden at the snap of a finger, Nick, an angry pyrotechnic who has a bone to pick with Pen, and Mr. Ansley, the calm, quiet Power Control teacher who has a few tricks up his sleeve. But when a series of students go missing, ending with Yaro's little brother Oliver, the five students discover it's not the mutant hate group that is causing trouble, but someone within the walls of the most protected mutant sanctuary on the globe.
