With the NerveGear, a helmet that stimulates the user's five senses via their brain, players can experience and control their in-game characters with their minds. Both the game and the NerveGear was created by Akihiko Kayaba. On November 6, 10,000 players log into the SAO's mainframe cyberspace for the first time, only to discover that they are unable to log out. Kayaba appears and tells the players that they must beat all 100 floors of Aincrad, a steel castle which is the setting of SAO, if they wish to be free. Those who suffer in-game deaths or forcibly remove the NerveGear out-of-game will suffer real-life deaths. Keiko Sayaa is among these players. Will she make it out alive? Or will her HP drop to zero? {The storyline characters do not belong to me but to Reki Kawahara. The only character I own is Keiko Sayaa. In this AU, Kirito never faced off against Heathcliff on Level 75. They continued on for the next year and a half, reaching level 100, where Kirito, Klein, and Asuna defeat Heathcliff and end the game. Less then five thousand players are alive at this point. Kirito turns 18 the day they finish the game. Also, Kirito managed to hack the game (after a lot of practice) and create a character for Yui, using his and Asuna's NerveGear to house their daughter to avoid deletion. Yui lived with them the entire time. But, on completion of the game, it became impossible to communicate with Yui, and Asuna became stuck in an un-game-related coma.
