The continuation of Sword Art Online in the year 2026 where Kirito and Asuna go to school in America 🏫 The setting of Sword Art Online is one of infinite possibilities. As each virtual world can be different from the next, it allows for stories of many different genres. Utilizing this is perhaps the franchise's greatest strength. The first arc is a death game story, while the second is a classic hero-must-rescue-the-princess tale. The third arc in turn is a cyberpunk murder mystery. And most recently, the final arc of Sword Art Online II has two additional stories: Caliber-a lighthearted adventure-and Mother's Rosario-a bittersweet coming-of-age story. So let's look at those last two, one at a time in a bit more detail.

In this AU, Kirito never faced off against Heathcliff on Level 75. They continued on for the next year and a half, reaching level 100, where Kirito, Klein, and Asuna defeat Heathcliff and end the game. Less then five thousand players are alive at this point. Kirito turns 18 the day they finish the game. Also, Kirito managed to hack the game (after a lot of practice) and create a character for Yui, using his and Asuna's NerveGear to house their daughter to avoid deletion. Yui lived with them the entire time. But, on completion of the game, it became impossible to communicate with Yui, and Asuna became stuck in an un-game-related coma.

This FanFic story is set in a parallel universe where Underworld is the real world. There are no virtual worlds. Kirito's name is still Kazuto Kirigaya but everyone tends to just call him Kirito. He still has an adoptive younger sister (Suguha). He grew up with his best friends Alice and Eugeo. On November 6, 10,000 players log into the SAO's mainframe cyberspace for the first time, only to discover that they are unable to log out. Kayaba appears and tells the players that they must beat all 100 floors of Aincrad, a steel castle which is the setting of SAO, if they wish to be free. Those who suffer in-game deaths or forcibly remove the NerveGear out-of-game will suffer real-life deaths. Keiko Sayaa is among these players. Will she make it out alive?
